Mission Statement

The Mission of NAMI Florida Inc. - Jacksonville shall be to support and improve the quality of life for family members and people with neurological brain disorders through compassion, education and advocacy.

Support

To provide support for each other and share the experiences of having a loved one who has a mental illness

To provide input from family members when decisions are made about the care and treatment of loved ones and when decisions are made that affect the mental health care system in general

Advocacy

To advocate for a greater number and better quality of available housing

To advocate for new treatment facilities and improvements of existing facilities, both state and local

To advocate for vocational training and placement for individuals capable of employment

To educate our Legislators through current information on mental health issues and the expected outcomes

To promote research on mental illnesses

To advocate for the general welfare and better treatment of all persons with mental illnesses
